COACH THE COACH
Building on years of experience in supporting teams with training and coaching coaches, we have developed 3 Coach the Coach workshops designed to support coaches with the different aspect of coaching. All of our Coach the Coach sessions are fully off-skates, looking at the behaviours and knowledge needed behind the scenes of a training committee.

COACHING NEW SKATERS
Designed for new and developing coaches working with new skaters
A session dedicated to how we introduce and train skills with new skaters. We’ll refer to the WFTDA’s This is Roller Derby curriculum to support our exploration of skills hierarchies and how to provide skill-specific feedback.
We’ll end the session with a focus on drafting training sessions and tips on how to run a session and keep skaters engaged.

COACHING TEAMS
Helping coaches bring their knowledge into one place to address strategies, team progression, and defining success.
Building on the fundamental concepts of coaching, we’ll apply these to the training design process. Looking at all the information needed to identify your team’s strengths and design a training arc that drives team progress.

COACHING ATHLETES
This session focusses on what will ultimately help you find success in your coaching - building the coach-athlete relationship.
We’ll use this time to explore how we can build relationships with athletes, give and receive feedback, manage expectations and, quite importantly, how to have those difficult conversations.
